(#2005) 6V-71 TBS Billet Case / Cast Rotors
The 6-71 Front Discharge Supercharger has been around for a long time, dating as far back as the 1960's. In an effort to decrease ETs at the drag strip, racers would convert Detroit Diesel blowers to work on big block and small block gas engines. Since then supercharging technology has come a long way and here at The Blower Shop we are continually working to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to our 6V-71 superchargers.
The TBS 6V-71 Supercharger is designed for small displacement Chevrolet engines (283, 350, 327, 383ci SBC), that are street driven applications using pump gas. The 6V-71 is similar to the standard 6-71, but does not need to be severely underdriven to restrict boost, which eliminates the potential of delayed throttle response.
The 6V-71 has 12'' long cast rotors, instead of the 15'' long rotors in a standard 6-71 case. It includes race bred recessed bearing plates to accommodate the shorter rotor length while using the same exterior case as a standard 6-71.
